Djabe and Chieli Minucci, guitarist of Special EFX, have been collaborating since 2023. In 2024, they staged a highly successful concert series together, the Tour of Waterfalls. Minucci’s playing and musicality elevated Djabe’s sound to a new level. Meanwhile, Minucci and Special EFX’s compositions gained a unique sound through the interpretation of Djabe’s musicians. A 24-track analogue recording of the 2024 tour was made, which was released on a triple LP, a double CD, a double 2-track master tape, and Blu-ray.

On April 13, 2025, the band recorded a studio album titled *Butterflies* during a break in their 2025 Butterflies tour. This recording will be released on LP, CD, and as a 2-track master tape. In addition to the studio material, the CD also contains three live recordings from the Vienna and Olomouc stops of the Tour of Butterflies.
