2002 was the year of New Orleans in Djabe’s life. The audience was able to get tickets for more than 10 concerts. Each evening, we grouped the songs around a different theme. Of these, three performances were composed in the spirit of world music influences. The first concert featured songs with African musical elements. On the second evening, pieces merging Arabic and Latin sounds were performed. The third performance featured North American Indian and Indonesian compositions. The material for the CD was selected from these concerts. Quite a few compositions were made directly for these performances, so they could not be heard anywhere before or after, like Zulu, Thuesday Afternoon and Bali Wind.
