The nearly 50-minute long LP contains an excerpt from the best tracks from the double CD; one half from the original CD and the other from old-new compositions.<\/p>\n

An extremely important piece from the Djabe LP collection has been created. It is worthy of other publications in both its musical quality and sound. The cover features photos of the songs, creating a colorful atmosphere for listening.<\/p>\n

Djabe released their first CD in November 1996, simply titled Djabe.<\/p>\n

On the occasion of its 25th<\/sup>anniversary, the band surprised fans with 2 track master tape release in addition to the 3-disc expanded digital reprint.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0first\u00a0Djabe album,\u00a0recorded\u00a0between\u00a0June\u00a01995 and September 1996, was already noticed by both the audience and the professional scene.\u00a0It\u00a0was\u00a0created\u00a0by\u00a0the\u00a0two\u00a0founders\u00a0of Djabe,\u00a0percussionist\u00a0Andr\u00e1s Sipos (1954 – 2007) and guitarist Attila \u00c9gerh\u00e1zi. They were joined by Tibor Karvaly, a violinist from the former Novus Jam band of \u00c9gerh\u00e1zi and Sipos, for the recordings.\u00a0Among the invited musicians were Ferenc Muck saxophonist, bassist Tam\u00e1s Barab\u00e1s and\u00a0trumpet\u00a0and\u00a0violin\u00a0player\u00a0Ferenc Kov\u00e1cs.\u00a0From\u00a0the criticisms of the time, the opinion of the American writer Mike Ezzo\u00a0should be\u00a0highlighted,\u00a0who\u00a0predicted,\u00a0right\u00a0fromthe\u00a0first\u00a0album,\u00a0that Djabe would achieve significant success and a great career internationally.\u00a0And he was\u00a0right.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0recent\u00a0years, Djabe\u00a0released\u00a0successive\u00a0versions\u00a0of the first records of\u00a0its\u00a0career, in both refurbished, remixed LP and surround sound. On the part of the band’s fans, both at home and abroad, there was a demand for vinyl and surround releases related to the first album. The possibility of renovation first arose in 2016, when Tibor Karvaly joined the line-up of the Djabe20 anniversary concert. There were also two tracks from the first CD that Djabe had never\u00a0performed\u00a0live before:\u00a0Hagar Qim and D\u00e9j\u00e0 Vu.<\/p>\n

Attila \u00c9gerh\u00e1zi searched the\u00a0archive\u00a0for\u00a0the\u00a0original\u00a0multitrack\u00a0tapes,\u00a0which\u00a0had to be \u201cbaked\u201d in the Abbey Road Studio in London, i.e. made playable again.<\/p>\n

Studio work began at the time of the COVID-related\u00a0closures. Attila \u00c9gerh\u00e1zi and Tibor Karvaly worked on the material for 8 months,\u00a0joined by\u00a0Ferenc Muck and Tam\u00e1s Barab\u00e1s for the last 3 months.<\/p>\n

Attila and Tibor\u00a0located\u00a0the\u00a0multitrack\u00a0recordings of all the tracks on the original CD and\u00a0refreshed\u00a0them. They accurately\u00a0modelled\u00a0the original\u00a0mix balance\u00a0and then re-edited the pieces in places if they saw fit.\u00a0Some tracks\u00a0recorded during the original\u00a0sessions\u00a0but not audible\u00a0in the mix\u00a0were also used.\u00a0In a few\u00a0a compositions\u00a0in which they were bothered by an inappropriate\u00a0note\u00a0for\u00a0the last\u00a025 years,\u00a0an issue\u00a0now fixed. They didn\u2019t have their own studio 25 years ago, so they often had to compromise because they slipped out of time.\u00a0In case of\u00a0the songs November and Demon, Ferenc Muck also\u00a0recorded\u00a0new saxophone tracks for\u00a0similar\u00a0reason.\u00a0The CD, which was updated and remixed and mastered by Tam\u00e1s Barab\u00e1s in the end, was named Refreshed.<\/p>\n

However, the project did not stopped there.\u00a0Several\u00a0unused\u00a0tracks\u00a0were\u00a0found\u00a0on\u00a0the\u00a0multitrack\u00a0tapes,\u00a0which,\u00a0now\u00a0taking advantage of the unbound opportunity provided by their own studio, were\u00a0finalized. The current members of Djabe, \u00c1ron Ko\u00f3s-Hut\u00e1s\u00a0(flugelhorn), P\u00e9ter Kasz\u00e1s\u00a0(drums), J\u00e1nos Nagy\u00a0(keyboards)\u00a0also played on these recordings, such as Pier 95 and Sunrays.<\/p>\n

Tam\u00e1s also composed a\u00a0new\u00a0composition\u00a0based\u00a0on\u00a0Sipi\u2019s\u00a0original\u00a0and\u00a0unused\u00a0drum\u00a0and\u00a0vocalrecordings,\u00a0which\u00a0became\u00a0We\u00a0Are Okay.<\/p>\n

An old-new composition, Lost In The Desert, was also\u00a0written\u00a0around\u00a0a\u00a0fantastic\u00a0unusedviolin\u00a0solo\u00a0by\u00a0Ferenc Kov\u00e1cs, in which a previously recorded guitar solo by Steve Hackett and Sipi’s vocal track can also be heard. Of course, Attila \u00c9gerh\u00e1zi, Tibor Karvaly, Tam\u00e1s Barab\u00e1s and Ferenc Muck also contribute\u00a0to\u00a0these\u00a0two\u00a0compositions.<\/p>\n

The second CD was titled Then & Now, referring to over 25 years of work.<\/p>\n
