Studio and live – 2016 edition<\/span><\/h1>\n

The compositions were inspired by paintings of artist Imre \u00c9gerh\u00e1zi which gave the album unique importance. The editorial concept followed the \u2019one painting, one track\u2019 policy and consists of compositions of bass guitarist Tam\u00e1s Barab\u00e1s and guitarist Attila \u00c9gerh\u00e1zi. The band succeeded in mirroring the visual thoughts of the painter, with sounds \u2019painted across\u2019 the canvases, and moved the visual experience further. The tracks echo the spirit of the Great Hungarian Plain, the Transylvanian landscape, or the field trips to Italy, Bulgaria, Poland and France. Djabe received numerous foreign invitations with the album and this was the beginning of international career for the band.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 2016 edition christened \u2018Sheafs are dancing \u2013 studio and live\u2019 and it\u2019s first CD is essentially the same as the original release. The second, now-debuting extra CD entitled \u2018Sheafs are dancing \u2013 live\u2019 with recordings of four different locations but sounds as an integrated concert album, thanks to the quality editorial and engineering work. The concert CD\u2019s main material, seven recordings from the \u2018Sheafs are dancing\u2019 album tour at Pesti Vigad\u00f3, Budapest in 2003. Further two compositions (Szemreh\u00e1ny\u00e1s, H\u00e1z a dombtet\u0151n) had its recordings done at the same tour but different location, at Pet\u0151fi Csarnok.<\/span>
\nIn 2015 one of the band\u2019s long-time dream came true, Rep\u00fcl\u00e9s and J\u00e9gvil\u00e1g compositions had their symphonic version was born. Tams Barab\u00e1s recomposed the two compositions, arranged by pianist Zolt\u00e1n Kov\u00e1cs with a 59 piece symphonic orchestra. The \u2018Rep\u00fcl\u00e9s\u2019 and \u2018J\u00e9gvil\u00e1g\u2019 recordings of \u2018Sheafs\u2019 concert disc was recorded at M\u0171v\u00e9szetek Palot\u00e1ja, Budapest with the Hungarian Symphonic Orchestra Miskolc on November 10th, 2015.<\/span>
\nA further interesting fact about \u2018Sheafs\u2019 concert CD is aside from the 5 and 6 ipece line-up of Djabe one track features a 7 piece line-up: recordings of \u2018F\u00e1tyol m\u00f6g\u00f6tt\u2019 were made at a gig at New Orleans Club in 2004 with Viktor T\u00f3th as a saxophonist; the artist was a full-time member of Djabe for a short time but no studio album was ever released under his membership.<\/span><\/p>\n

The two discs are packaged to a extended, 36-page hard cover handbook, on digipak trays. Form to content. Good to hold in your hands. This quality must only be presented this way. Five stars.<\/span><\/p>\n
